The commission is based on the total premium minus the Kentucky Special Fund Assessment. The agent also does not get a commission on any rolling deposit if the policyholder pays by monthly reporting. The agency/agent recognized and authorized by the insured at the time the policy is written will be paid a commission.
Excess commission paid by KEMI as a result of returned premium is to be refunded to KEMI by the agent/agency.
The commission will be paid by KEMI within 30 days of receipt of the premium for agents receiving payments through monthly electronic funds transfer(EFT)/direct deposit.
If the premium is paid on an installment basis, the commission will be proportionate to the premium paid. Agents should not deduct the commission from a deposit or payment sent to KEMI.
To sign up for monthly EFT/Direct Deposit commission payments, click here to complete the Agency Commission Change Form and email the form with bank documentation noted on the form to agencysetup@kemi.com.
